What is your life like? Do you spend 2.6 hours a day watching mindless TV? The average American does. If you're ready to get more out of your day and more out of your life you have hit the jack pot.
Here are your top ten ways to get more out of your day and more out of your life;
Way Ten
Become a goal setter. To do this you need to take those ideas that are rattling around in your head, write them down put a date of when you will accomplish each and get going. Some times it can feel overwhelming to try and tackle a big goal so take a few minutes and break the goal down into manageable bites and take each bite at a time.
Think of it this way if today you are eating a mini slider hamburger, once you set your goals and start working toward them you'll be eating a regular size hamburger and when you begin reaching your goals you will be eating a gourmet burger. It gets better when goal setting becomes second nature to you this is when you'll be eating prime rib.
Way Nine
Think through your day before your day begins. Each day I start with a list of the things that I am going to accomplish that day. Then when I get to the point where I am loosing focus and start surfing the internet I am able to go back to my list see what still needs done and get back on track.
Way Eight
My dad used to say The Early Bird Catches the Worm. This is really true. Start setting your alarm for 5am and get up. No more snoozing or sleeping in until mid morning. I get more done in the 2 hours before everyone else is awake then I get done all morning long. It's a lot easier to focus and stay focused when no one is interrupting you.
Way Seven
Organize your life. Find a place for everything and keep it in its place. If you live in a house with a spouse and kids you know this is not an easy task. But, once you get organized and keep organized you will save countless hours of wasted time looking for things.
When I was young my mom and I would spend hours looking for the scissors, she still can never find her scissors. In my house the scissors are in the kitchen next to the knives. When my kids need them they know where to go. This means no wasted time with mom looking for the scissors.
Way Six
File your mail when it comes in. If its junk mail toss it out. If it's a bill pay it. If it needs answering answer it. If it needs filing file it. Simple as that. No clutter, no mess, no wasted time.
Way Five
Don't waste a minute. We are each given 24 hours in a day. If we waste our time we never get it back. I keep motivational tapes in my car so I can listen while I drive. My husband always has a book in his brief case so if he is waiting for a client he can read. The idea is if you have 5 extra minutes use them, if you waste them you will never get them back.
Way Four
Eat healthy, live healthy, be healthy. Your body is fueled by what you put into it and what you do with it. The basic prescription is get enough rest everyday, eat healthy foods and exercise. Now did I really need to tell you this?
Way Three
Avoid negative people like the plague. Negative people will do nothing but drag you down. If you just can not remove them from your life then limit the amount of time you spend with them. This can be hard when it is a family member or co-worker but you can do it, and you'll be glad you did.
Way Two
When I was in school I had a teacher that said garbage in equal's garbage out. What he meant was this if you fill your mind with trash content then all you will think is trash content. In basic terms, turn off the TV and read a quality book instead. Really think about what you are reading, watching and listening to.
Way One
The number one way to get more out of life is to stop making excuses. When I was in school I spent the afternoon with a young man who made sure that I knew he was held back because of his race, age and dyslexia. All I could think when he was talking was my dyslexic brother is a lawyer, my father died when I was 12 leaving mom and I struggling to make ends meet and I was a shy girl. Yet I never made excuses for anything I did. I got up in the morning, I set goals and I worked hard to reach my goals.
I often wonder if he is still making excuses for his life or if he finally stood up and took responsibility. How about you, are you still making excuses?
If you want more out of life then get up get going and do it. Like I said, I'm just a poor orphaned shy girl who wears glasses. Wait a minute that's not me. Let's try this again. Like I said, I'm just a successful online entrepreneur who is getting more out of life and having more fun doing it than she ever thought possible. Now that's better. Don't you agree?
